About

Hi, I'm Fufan...

You work hard to appear capable and confident, but inside, you often feel anxious, doubt yourself, and worry about failing. Childhood and relational trauma can quietly shape self-doubt and shame—leaving you feeling like something is wrong with you, that you don’t quite measure up, and leading you to continually seek acceptance from others without understanding why. You feel stuck between wanting confidence and the tiring cycle of self-doubt and people-pleasing. Together, we will gently break this cycle. You will get to know who you are, take back control, and finally feel safe, genuine, and truly connected with yourself and others. Trauma leaves us feeling fundamentally worthless, broken, shameful, and disconnected from self and others, resulting in a relentless, exhausting compulsion to earn acceptance and worth. You want to appear competent, selfless, and indispensable to others, but deep down you are struggling to believe you are worthy, worried about constantly failing, and convinced that you are fundamentally never enough. Do you ever feel fundamentally conflicted—as if one part of you is deeply hurting while another part minimizes that pain, telling you, "It's not a big deal, just get over it"? Many of my clients arrive exhausted by the belief that their worth depends on constant output. They struggle with the heavy statements you might recognize: "I can’t stop, I have to keep working hard," or "No matter what I do, I don't feel enough." This relentless pressure leads to perfectionism, chronic burnout, anxiety, and a feeling of being disconnected from your true self. For many BIPOC and Asian American individuals, this internal conflict is intensified by cultural and generational burdens. You may carry the weight of making up for family sacrifices or feel an underlying sense that "I am a burden, I am not worthy, or I am incompetent by nature." This forces you into a rabbit hole of constantly seeking redemption, resulting in people-pleasing and a lack of healthy boundaries—all while feeling unsafe to even recognize your mental health struggles. 〖 It doesn't have to be this way 〗 Healing begins when we address the root causes of this conflict, not just the symptoms. Imagine a life where you feel more connected to yourself, allowing that connection to translate into safe, authentic relationships with others. 〖 Hi, I am FuFan.... 〗 I provide culturally enriched and evidence-based therapy to address the specific intersection of trauma and identity. I specialize in helping you navigate these internal conflicts and generational burdens. While I specialize in the experiences of the BIPOC and Asian American communities, all clients seeking this deep, relational healing are welcome. 〖 My Vision 〗 ● Sustainable Self-Trust: Establishing an inner sense of adequacy and self-trust, instead of feeling inadequate and doubtful. ● Healthy Boundaries: Feeling comfortable saying "no" and prioritizing your needs genuinely, without guilt or the need to overfunction for others. ● Inner Peace: Cultivating true resilience, self-compassion, and restoring hope for a fulfilling life, free from the old rules of childhood trauma. 〖 My Practice: Healing, Growth, Connection 〗 I believe true healing begins when we stop searching for worth outside ourselves and start trusting the wisdom within. As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) with sixteen years of clinical experience, I'm dedicated to helping you move past the cycles of perfectionism and burnout that hold you back." I specialize in supporting high-achieving professionals, creatives, and BIPOC/Asian-American clients who are ready to heal complex issues like Anxiety, PTSD, Imposter Syndrome, and Relational Trauma. I am proud to be bilingual in English and Mandarin, which allows me to provide culturally enriched and identity-affirming support that understands the unique weight of generational expectations and belonging." I utilize powerful, evidence-based modalities—including EMDR, IFS, and DBT—to address the root causes of emotional conflict. I provide trauma-informed therapy via telehealth across the states of Utah (UT) and New York (NY), offering a collaborative, gentle, and supportive environment for your journey. Let's work together to restore your peace and authentic connection. 〖 My approach integrates powerful modalities to help create lasting transformation 〗 ● EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing): We use EMDR to help your brain process and finally move past the painful, stuck memories from childhood and relational trauma that fuel your anxiety and perfectionism today. This addresses the feeling that "I am going to mess things up." ● IFS (Internal Family Systems): This modality addresses the feeling of being "torn" or conflicted. We work gently with the "parts" that are hurting, the "parts" that are overworking (perfectionism, people-pleasing), and the "parts" that feel shame, fostering self-compassion and restoring wholeness. ● DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy): We utilize DBT skills to help you build practical, immediate tools for managing intense emotional responses (like anxiety and fear of disappointment) and learning how to establish and maintain healthy boundaries in your daily life. 〖 EMDR Therapy Intensive 〗 Are you longing for therapy that matches the urgency and depth of your internal experience? Are you craving deeper breakthroughs that short-term sessions haven’t provided? This is a focused investment designed to optimize your time and accelerate your return on investment. If you often feel like you're just "scratching the surface" of deep emotional material in standard weekly sessions before the hour is up, then you are in the right place. The intensive therapy model eliminates this delay, giving your system the sustained time and psychological space necessary for structural healing. This focused block allows us to fully engage with specialized methods like EMDR and IFS, leading to a more complete and durable reprocessing of your core emotional programming in a fraction of the time. You are effectively condensing months of traditional progress into a highly focused, accelerated timeframe. The result is your quicker path to significant peace, profound relief, and durable breakthroughs, ensuring your investment leads to sustainable inner calmness and frees you from the cycle of performing for acceptance. Ready to start reclaiming your authentic self? It takes courage to seek support and acknowledge the need for change. I am here to walk alongside you throughout this journey. 〖 Request Appointment Here 〗 Please feel free to text me directly at 385.200.1510 with any questions you have or to schedule an appointment. ---------------------------- Harmony Counseling PLLC offers telehealth services exclusively.
